Why KABE

Advantages of KABE

The main suppliers of bleaching earth in the world are the USA and Greece. In India, companies like Tonsil and Engelhard are suppliers of bleaching earth. They supply washed bleaching earth, which is expensive.

KABE offers the following two advantages over washed bleaching earth:

  • Almost the same efficiency at approximately 50% of the cost of washed bleaching earth
  • Washed bleaching earth is also environmentally hazardous as it is difficult to dispose off the waste that is generated after washing

Disadvantages of Washed Bleaching Earth

Although acid produces material with good activity there are some significant disadvantages:

  • As the acidic residue is difficult to dispose off washed bleaching earth is detrimental to the environment.
  • As washed bleaching earth swells in the presence of oxygenated solvents, it is ineffective in the treatment of solutions or blends containing water, alcohols, chetones or aldehydes.
  • It costs twice as much as unwashed bleaching earth.
